I was approached to represent Bessie in a bovine discrimination case and when I googled the name of her harasser, I landed here.

This is my first ever post, I've just created my account, so as a newbie, Hi Everyone. And thanks for asking, High Flow.

I started in 2003 just searching around, on dialup. I had by then found nugs.net and downloaded all those shows, and finding some other bands too, and was onward looking for more Grateful Dead, must have found the name of the Archive on some google search, or from a forum somewhere else, maybe. I can't quite remember, but I've never looked back. I've been lurking here solidly ever since. And I learned all about how to find my way around the downloading and streaming. And to find ways to do things we don't talk about here. I've been wanting to create an account here for a long time, but seems like every time, something comes up and distracts me or makes my 2 cents feel worthless. for instance, Thanksgiving 2005, and the Soundboards stopped, then came back for stream-only. Taper section had a happy run then they stopped offering downloads. Sometimes I think I'll just give up listening to the Dead so my wife will be happy, but I know that'll never work.

Back when I was really starting out downloading around here, I got a lot of good inspiration reading reviews by Dr. Flashback, and I keep finding lots of good reviews continue from a lot of people. I have also followed some of the links and checked out some cool things from people in this forum. I've also read about some of the joys and heartaches that people have shared from their personal lives, I feel like I should have said hello before now. But I'll try to make an effort now, no promises, but I'll try.

A few years ago Skiing Magazine did a story on the 80 things every skier needs. One of these 80 things was a copy of the 77 Barton Hall show for long drives to the mountain. They mentioned archive.org and this has been my favorite web site since.

Thanks, I did something wrong, and the first composition got lost, probably for your benefit, so I made a shorter version. Guess these things will become clear once I learn how. I had the window open for over an hour while I was writing, so I think it logged me off when I submitted my post. Not really sure. I will make a trip to the how to page or FAQ.

Just thought I’d share my modus operandi when posting. Unless it is just a simple reply I usually work up my post in a word document first, so that I can leave the archive window open and refer back to the thread as I am writing, and also utilize the spell check, and then paste it into my reply. Sometimes if it takes me a while to get my thoughts together, it helps to refresh the page and see what else has been added to the thread before adding my two cents.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks, Vapors. Once a long time ago, I did the same thing on another forum and figured it would be a better idea to compose a note in Word, so thanks for the reminder. I've been pretty busy lately and lost track of my reply, even though I go on the forum almost every day - sorry it took so long to get back to you.
